A user just contacted me by email saying that Run.GPS couldn't access its data directory any more and started a new one. Anyone else with that problem?
A new release 2.4.3 has been published for Android. It adds support for smartphones with multiple storage volumes.
Excerpt from manual (chapter 7.4.2):
Some Android devices have multiple storage volumes (e.g. Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung Galaxy SIII). It's unwise to have the Run.GPS data directory on a small storage volume, since it may require lots of space for storing maps et cetera.
The Run.GPS app tries to select a suitable storage location on first launch. But if you already have it installed, you might want to change the data directory location manually.
How to move the Run.GPS data directory (works on Android with Run.GPS 2.4.3 or later):
1. Install a file manager app like “Astro File Manager” if you have not already done so
3. Use the file manager app to move the entire “Run.GPS” directory to a different location:
e.g. from /storage/sdcard0/Run.GPS to /storage/extSdCard/Run.GPS
(you can also copy the directory, but then you have to rename the original directory to e.g. “Run.GPS_backup” to be shure it won't be used by Run.GPS)
4. Start Run.GPS
Note: Run.GPS searches all storage volumes for a “Run.GPS” directory on top level when you start the app.
