Dear Athletes,
Everyone who likes to do mountain, bike or rollerblade tours knows the problem:
you want to plan a tour, but this is a complex task because there are no
route planners for outdoor enthusiasts. You have to figure out every turning
point and the exact routing yourself. Wouldn't it be great if one just had
to define the rough structure of the tour and the in-between would be filled by
an automatic routing app?
This is now possible with the free "Route Planner" app on GPS-Sport.net!
World-wide routing on the basis of OpenStreetMap.org maps.
To try it out, follow these steps:
1) Sign in on GPS-Sport.net (or sign up first if you haven't done so yet)
2) Press "Route Planner" button
3) Set first point on the map
4) Select routing type (light blue buttons): by foot, bike or car
5) Click next point on map - the route in-between is calculated automatically
In addition to this, there is now also a placemark manager in the Route Planner
app. You can use it to define important POIs along your navigation route.
Placemarks can be declared private or public. They are not connected to a
certain route and can therefore be used with multiple routes. With Run.GPS
version 2.3.0 (will be released before Christmas) you will be able to copy
placemarks to your mobile device directly through the "download cart".
