Voice output does not work in Run.GPS/Android. What can I do?

Quite often TTS (text-to-speech) is not configured correctly in Android Settings. Go to Android Settings >> Speech >> Text to Speech. Choose an installed TTS or install a new TTS from Google Play, e.g. "Google TTS" or "SVOX".

I have switched my phone. How do I get Run.GPS licensed on the new phone?

If you originally purchased a Run.GPS license for Android, Blackberry or Windows Mobile (not Windows Phone) on www.rungps.net =>>
After the purchase we have sent you an email with an activation link you can use for licensing. If you don't have it any more, you can request a new one on http://www.rungps.net/shop2/support/Support.jsp.
Procedure:

1. Download and install Run.GPS from www.rungps.net >> Downloads or from Google Play (use trial version "Run.GPS Trainer UV PRO TRIAL")
2. Start the app and write down the new Run.GPS ID (format AAAA-BBBB-CCCC) from Main Menu >> 3rd page >> About
3. Open the activation link in a browser and enter the Run.GPS ID
4. Enter the license you have received in Run.GPS ("License" button)

Note: In case you've used up your 3 activations, please write us a short message so we can unlock your activation page.
If you have purchased Run.GPS in Google Play Store, Apple App Store / iTunes, Blackberry Store or Windows Phone Store =>>
The purchase is automatically valid on your new device if you use the same account / credentials as on your former phone. The app can be simply downloaded from the app store.
Note: A license purchased on www.rungps.net cannot be used in an app store because the app store operators do not allow licensing from outside their store. It is not possible for instance to use a license purchased on www.rungps.net for iOS or Windows Phone.

I've entered a license code but Run.GPS says it's not valid or in wrong format

The Run.GPS ID is in format AAAA-BBBB-CCCC and can be found in Main Menu >> 3rd page >> "About". The license code must be in format AAAA-BBBB-CCCC-DDDD. If you change your device, the ID will also change, so you'll need a new license key. You can get it from the license activation web page (see above).
If you have entered a new license code for your device and the app still says it's incorrect, this MUST be because of a typing mistake, either in the Run.GPS ID, or in the license key. Often, the letters "B" and "8", or "S" and "5" are confused. In case you've used up your 3 activations, please write us a short message so we can unlock your activation page.

I want to upload my training to www.gps-sport.net, but the app shows an error message "User name or password wrong"

This error message can be caused by one of the following issues:

1. The user credentials are actually wrong. They can be entered in Main Menu >> Configuration >> User. It happens quite often that an unintentional character (space or line break) is entered behind the user name or password. Try re-entering both.
2. The user account is not confirmed: When you create a new account or if you change your email address, you have to confirm your account using a confirmation link sent to you by email. If you experience problems with that (e.g. entered a wrong email) - send a message through our support form so we can help you.
3. Your device is offline

I would like to create a backup of my trainings. Where are they stored?

Android:

• Trainings, routes et cetera are stored in /storage/extSdCard/Android/data/de.esymetric.rungps/files/Run.GPS/ (or similar, depending on your device)
• The full folder can be copied to create a backup
• Cached map tiles are stored in hidden folders (starting with a dot) in "map_images" (this is to avoid that map tiles are displayed in your album app)
• The Run.GPS data folder can be copied between different devices if they use the same operating system

iOS and Windows Phone:
The data folder cannot be accessed. App backup must be configured through the operating system.
