No. The communication of a HRM belt with the watch is usually done using the ANT protocol which is incompatible to WiFi and Bluetooth. There has been an ANT2Bluetooth converter device available - but it's not available any more and: who want's to carry about another device.
I doubt that the Polar f6 has a HRM recording support. The first polar device I know which has this feature is the RS400. Look out for (Recording rate).
@windtrader: as far as I know it's not possible to export HRM data from the Timex watch; we have a Timex speed + distance system here (Timex Ironman Triathlon + Garmin speed + distance); it works okay but has a weak GPS receiver
@steven: I'm not sure which is the cheapest with HRM file support. Probably the F6 (about 70 EUR / 100 USD), see http://www.polarusa.com/products/fseries/f6.asp; prices starting at 50 EUR on Ebay/Germany or 80 USD on Ebay/US for a new F6 watch
Here is an interesting product. Includes heart rate monitor, GPS unit, and USB data logger for about $250. Actually, not a bad price if it works well given the various monitoring units.
This feature makes the overall solution very useful for truely analyzing how one performs during a training session.
I have little knowledge about the Polar hrm data file format but is it some sort of standard or a defacto standard due to the large base of Polar heart rate units on the market? Are there other non-Polar units, not necessarily cheaper, that can also send hrm data?
the HRM file import function is now online (BETA). You need a Polar heart rate watch the UpLink Tool to get the heart rate data to your PC and from there to GPS-Sport.net.
To test it, do the following:
1) go to a training page
2) choose Upload Heart Rate Data (HRM)
3) select a file to upload
Btw: for all newly uploaded trainings, a speed diagram (X: time Y: speed) will also be added. This is particularly interesting when comparing it to the heart rate diagram.
