In the same boat with an AT&T Tilt2 running WM6.5, I contacted tech support and they indicated they'll have support for the BTC com ports in the next version, likely out in about a month or so.
In the meantime back to my trusty HTC Touch Diamond for Run.GPS
Note, comm2 works fine as either external bt gps or bt hrm, but one can't use both concurrently.
I had a similar issue with my Samsung Omnia which also runs WM 6.5.
I only had the option of Com2 and Com6. Com6 is used by the external GPS so tried Com2 and it would keep dropping. After some research I found that the internal GPS was still active and using Com2. I disabled it but still wold to activate.
Then found you need to wear the belt otherwise it switches off. So put the belt on and tried it again. It would connect but Run.GPS would not talk to it. However, when I closed the software and started it up. It connected straright away.
Cannot Add COM ports in WM 6.5 using Widcomm manager only BTC ports are available
On my HTC Touch Pro 2 with WM 6.5 the only ports I have available to use are COM2 and BTC1,BTC2, and BTC3. COM2 will not work. You can add device and select this port with no problem. When you try to connect via this port it will do so but drops the connection after a few seconds. I have tried everything to no avail. I am an advanced user who in the past has flashed custom ROM's onto previous smartphones. The Widcomm bluetooth manager WILL NOT allow you to add a new port. The BTC's (Blue Tooth COM) ports are only ones available. BTC's are not available in Run.GPS. I am using Run.GPS UV Pro 2.3.7. If developers can add support for BTC or anyone has a work around for this please let me know.
