Feb 05 2010 - Importing GPX files as trainings (not routes) does not make so much sense to us yet, but we have put it on the list of enhancement requests.

The sense of that feature is attract users from other apss (and obviosusly earn money). RunGPS maybe is the best tracking app i've seen (i discovered few days ago), but i don't want to lose all my training history -stored with other app- just for changing software.

In GPX is all basic information of any training activity (coordinates, time, HR ... so you can calculate speed, altitude, calories, etc... as you do in "live mode") Is incomprehensible this feature is still in the "enhacement request", nearly 3 years later

Yes, I agree with you DerBandit

Run.gps is one of the most feature packed apps out there with the way it brings together the training, tracking, navigation and reports which is why it's so frustrating that the development on modernising the app and site as well as implementing what otherwise are basic features is so slow.

I just hope the developers are not wasting their time developing the social media (FB and Twitter) side as I would rather have the app and site UI reworked and made more user friendly for the modern smartphones. The gps-sport site doesn't even render correctly for me in Firefox. It never has.

you all might be right

but still, the functions implemented in run.gps are huge compared to Endomondo for instance.
Which other app has tracking AND navigation implemented?

Definitely a big flaw

Not being able upload training sessions is a major flaw. I have a number of training sessions that were recorded via other apps and can't upload them on gps-sport.net. This makes using Run.gps (gps-sport.net) less desirable and maybe it's time to start looking at other alternatives.

Regrettably, the developers seem to have become complacent. This was really a great product a few years ago but has fallen behind with the lack of development and outdated UI.

Same here

Yup, I want this feature also badly. Have lots of lots of trainings in SportTracker, formerly of Nokia. Very important feature if you want a bigger community (= more money). IMHO.

.. well ...

Well ... no reply, no help ... switching to Endomondo, importing is working very well... :-)

Run.GPS support is very poor, i guess is better to move to other app...
Honu 24.07.2011 21:11:40 UTC

Well ... time to move to another software ? Nobody seems to work in there ... !
Honu 09.07.2011 10:52:00 UTC

.. same for me...

admin : Yes a training contain more infos than a gpx... but not that much, my gpx got enought info to create a Training : Date / Time / Position. Infos like age / weight are known by Gps-sport.net... so it can be added automatically for calories... nope ?

I understand richardm's point. I too would like the ability to upload other gpx tracks as sessions.
I am only using the lite version, but i find it really annoying that when I can't upload past run.gps sessions too! Back at version 2.3.9 I had a pot of session which crashed on upload. And there is no function available. To upload old sessions. Maybe even just another small app which searches.the normal track directory and gives you the option to select and upload tracks?
