Currently we only have a database of cities / villages, but no database of streets. This is the reason why we can search only on city level.
It would be technically possible to use external geo locators (like Google Maps), but the terms usually forbid it (you can use these services only on a website using the provided API).
We agree that this would be very useful and we'll keep trying to find a solution.
I noticed that 'Online Place Search' doesn't seem to search at address level, e.g. 409 City Road, South Melbourne is found when using the route planner but not found when using 'Online Place Search'. This function will make automatic routing & navigation a lot more useful. Is this a bug or can I request this to be added to the development wishlist.

Dear Athletes,
Release 2.2.8 is ready for download from the Run.GPS website www.RunGPS.net .
Updating is as always free.
As we all know it from car navigation, Run.GPS does now provide navigation from
point A to B following given ways or streets. The structure of ways and streets
comes from the OpenStreetMap project. Three modes of navigation are available:
by foot, by bike and by motorized vehicle. The navigation route is calculated
once when starting a training or journey. If the original route is left, Run.GPS
immediately requests an updated navigation route from the GPS-Sport.net server.
The navigation instructions are both displayed on the screen and announced
via voice output.
To be able to easily find places on the map, you can now search for place
names. After entering a search term a selection of places appears. It is
possible to navigate to a place, to show it on the map or to store it as a
placemark.
Furthermore, you can now add/configure new online map layers (in addition to the
existing OpenStreetMap layers). For further information on this, please refer
to the manual, chapter "5.4.Adding More Online Map Layers" or to the forum:
