Reports
I have a similary problem when i look in the reports. In the chart of speeds and hights the first 4 to 10 minutes show a speed of 0 km/h. Start time and End time in the chart is also not right: I run 1:20 , first entry is at 0:04 , last at 01:36. At 0:08 the first speed (not zero) is shown.
Well I'm glad we got that sorted :) Users may want to check their data files because this could make a big impact on interpretation.
Seems a small problem may have popped up as a result of fix- see my post in the Run.gps software forum

Hi Slogfester
you're right and we were able to reproduce this problem! This is a serious bug and we will therefore bring out a service release which will appear today afternoon.
The training start time is the time when Run.GPS is running AND the first valid position fix is coming from the GPS. But it should be set to the time when the start button is pressed for the first time.
Issue will be fixed in release 2.2.2 build 966. Thanks a lot for the verbose bug report!

Run.gps start time is not real start time!
OK, I need to update this because I think I have worked out what is going on. Most of the time I open run.gps on my PDA in the comfort of my home before I start my excercise, so I don't have to wait for a signal when I am ready to go and so that the software is ready. But I do not press START. Rather I go back to the Today screen, lock the device and get myself ready. When I am ready to start excercise I press START and off I go. It appears that run.gps is recording the time that I opened the program as the start time of the excercise? This is happening regularly and there is no difference between the time on my Polar 625x and PDA. Check my latest excercise for evidence and the difference between the HRM and speed graphs (http://www.gps-sport.net/detail.jsp?trainingID=17557). Today I made a special effort to press START on my 625x and run.gps at the same time, yet Polar says I started at 1438 (correct) while run.gps says I started 1418 (incorrect).
(Yes it takes me 20 mins to get my act together!)
Further evidence of this can be seen in the training analysis file which shows a speed of zero for first 20 mins, but this is not displayed in the graph?
So, I conclude that run.gps incorrectly uses the time of opening the program as the start time of the excercise, NOT when I press START.
My apologies in advance if I have misunderstood how run.gps works.
Update: I have been experimenting with this and it is a reproducable error on my set up at least (2.2.0 921)

well spotted robert :)
But that is plain weird. I have checked time on PDA and Polar 625x and they agree almost exaclty. I'll keep an eye out for it next time.
I think I can change the start time in the HRM file pretty easy? Because -as I have noted on this thread before- I think Polar only records actual time once?
EDIT FOR FUTURE REF: OK- fixed very easily by changing in a text editor the start time of the Polar HRM file.
The training report shows that I had a 45:39 min:sec pause before getting going which would explain the difference in times! Indicating that I inadvertently started the training session while in the house?
Importing heart rate data from the FRWD B600 and other FRWD sports computers is possible now.
Since the date/time cannot be read in a universally valid manner because it is stored in locale specific format ("den 14 oktober 2007 13:38:24 CEST" - swedish), the heart rate recording has to be started at the same time as the Run.GPS recording.
Just uploaded a HRM to my latest training (http://www.gps-sport.net/detail.jsp?trainingID=14566) and the graph has been scrambled and/or cut in half? I think the HRM file is OK and certainly appears to be using other software to display.
At the moment this file format is not supported. Is it possible to export the heart rate data in different text formats? Currently, the Polar .hrm format and the Oregon Scientific .csv format are supported. Please send us a full export file from the FRWD B600 to info[AT]rungps.net. I don't think it's difficult to support this file format in GPS-Sport.net.
