Yes, you can use it to record an indoor cycling session.
If you have a cadence sensor for your indoor bike:
1) Select Configuration >> GPS >> Use sensor values instead of GPS values for speed and distance
2) Switch to indoor mode
3) Start, the Stop, then Upload
If you don't have a cadence sensor for your indoor bike:
1) Connect your heart rate monitor (if available)
2) Switch to indoor mode
3) Press Start, do your training, the press Stop
4) Click on the Run.GPS logo between the Start and Stop buttons
5) Select "Edit distance" and manually enter a distance
6) Upload to GPS-Sport.net
Here's a test / sample of how it will look like on the portal: http://www.gps-sport.net/trainings/spinning_1783168

Can I register a workout also by using the indoor mode for a spinning / indoorcycling group lesson?
.... And how should this be used then for this activity?
I do not use a smartwatch but only Run.GPS on the smartphone.
