I first deleted user.xml but this didn't help. After that I deleted configuration.xml and now I can see and download the OSM-maps again. Thanks.
By the way the Nexus 5 comes with 4.4 preinstalled and doesn't have external sdcard support.
Now I would like to know what of all the xml switches was responsible for this mess. I think next time I will save the configuration.xml to compare them.
Did the problem perhaps occur with the Android 4.4 update? In Android 4.4 , apps cannot access the "external sd card" (even if it is actually internal) any more. Please check if you have multiple Run.GPS data directories, e.g.
/storage/sdcard0/Run.GPS and
/storage/extSdCard/Run.GPS
If both exist, the one NOT on extSdCard is relevant.
You can reset the entire configuration by doing this:
1) Quit Run.GPS app
2) Delete /Run.GPS/configuration.xml
3) Delete /Run.GPS/users/user-uv/user.xml
4) Restart Run.GPS
You will have to go through the configuration wizard again and enter your credentials again. Offline maps and all other data will not be deleted.
I wanted to switch off some overlay items of osm map in the end all osm maps are gone
Hi!
I have downloaded around 500MB of OSM offline maps. I usually download offline maps via WLAN to relieve my mobile data plan or to have faster access to maps.
Today I was upset of all the overlay icons like hotels and wikipedia articles on a map and wanted to get rid of them. That was a big mistake! On the search for the right menu to switch the overlay icons off I somehow killed my open street maps alltogether!
Now I am unable to see any OSM maps. I switched them on and off, reloaded them, cleared the app cache (not map cache), switched many other things on and off but nothing helps. The Cache-Size is 419MB with 92500 files. Do I really have to empty the osm map cache and reload all the data? This would really be cumbersome I want to avoid.
What can I do now? I'm on version 2.8.4b build 3343 on Nexus 5.
Can I somehow reset the settings without lossing my offline maps?
