Excessively high DOP
I too have been experiencing excessively high DOP on my Samsung Galaxy S2 with Android 2.3.3.
DOP have been in the range of 20-30, and as a result, speed tracking has been very erratic and quite often records as zero, and showing bursts of my actual speed every 30 seconds to 1 minute. Positional tracks seem to be pretty accurate though when I run, only speed is poorly or not recorded.
I have tried setting Max DOP to above 25 and also tried both check box on and off for use GPS speed. When check box on, GPS speed is inaccurate, especially when tested driving (difference of over 25kph from actual speed to tracked speed)
Maybe the metrics for DOP have changed with the new Android release. If the GPS signal seems weak, you could try the hints from the Run.GPS manual (www.rungps.net >> Downloads >> manual >> last chapter).
Hi,
yes I did it yesterday, and I didn't lost the GPS signal. Nevertheless, I noted the DOP was very high, from 35 to 45 (some time over 50), and the accuracy of the track was not so good. This problem of DOP, is it due to the software, the new android system, or some problems of satellites? Because I use to run in this area, and I never note this kind of trouble.
best regards
From 1 week, my Htc Incredible S is working with the new version of android, the Gingerbread, android 2.3.3. But since this update I loose my signal of GPS.
is the version 2.3.9 of Run GPS match with Gingerbread?
Best regards
