Need this

This is the single most important feedback I get from my gps-unit during training!

I need my pace for every km so I can see how fast im going and adjust. On shorter and more intense runs I like to to get feedback set up for every 500m.

Run.gps is fully capable of this, but its just too hard to set up at the moment. I belive most long distance runners prefers it this way.

My Mistake

I realize now that the program does have a distance activated alert. After playing with it last night. I realize you can set it up to alert you every 1km and if you set up the autolap feature it will automatically start a new lap every 1km.
(Note to Cfarrell )That means you can probably use the lap time to give you some of the info you mentioned in your first post.

For more info go to http://downloads.rungps.net/TrainerUVManual_2.3.6.pdf
Search for the words: 4.12.Automatic Lap Detection
and the words: 4.7.Voice Output

The frequency setting is a little confusing it starts out with time intervals 30 sec 1 min 3 min 5 min etc:
but it eventually changes to distance settings. I never went past the time settings (i just assumed after hitting the button a few times that all the choices were for time)
After looking at the forum posts, there seem to be a lot of people that don't realize the program has this functionality.
I hope this post will help them out.

Average pace kind of helps

It isn't exactly what I was looking for, but activating average pace provides at least some information. Again, it isn't sufficient. Either you use average pace since training begins or you use average pace over the voice output interval - you are, however, bound to the voice output interval (unless there is some setting I have missed). Furthermore, you can only choose between certain intervals - e.g. 3 and 5 minutes (no 4 minute option, though this would be ideal as a 'workaround' for the scenario I described in the first comment below).

Can't beleive it doesn't have it!

I just downloaded the trail version. The most obvious feature to me would be a distance activated alert. Every GPS watch i have had beeps every mile. Maybe I have missed something but I can't seem to get this program to alert me when I get to the mile boundarys. I also haven't figured out how to make it autolap every mile. I would love to hear a voice prompt with last lap time etc. is anything planned?

Taking the example of running 10km in 40 minutes, that entails running each kilometer in 4:00 minutes. It would be helpful first of all to have distance based voice output - i.e. every 1km, a voice would say "last km in 4:00 minutes".

Additionally, if you can tell the program beforehand, that you want to run 10km in 40 minutes, after each km it could tell you that you need to speed up, or slow down etc - or tell you that your ETA is going to be 42:23 minutes, if you proceed at your current pace.
