The fact that you can't access a today program like spb mobile shell whilst run.gps is active is I consider very poor programming in this day and age.
Free programs like runsaturday don't have this problem as with many other paid for applications that I have operated all allowing access to my SPB today screen. I have a HTC HD2 and due to the limited functionality and personalisation with that nonSENSE desktop HTC devised SPB mobile shell is essential.
This is obvioulsy something the developers of run.gps need to address before they're overtaken by a lot of freeware applications like runsaturday.
GIVE ME BACK MY TODAY SCREEN cos it's been a problem for too long!
you can do this with Mortbuttons (www.sto-helit.de) using "running programs" for switching between e.g. RunGps and windows player. If you need detailed description, call in, I will do a step by step instruction!

Hmm, odd, I wonder if this is a Touch Pro thing, as I do not have this issue with my O2 XDA Flame running WM5 nor the HTC Touch Diamond (standard HTC WM6.1 ROM) I just switched to.
On the latter, I just hit home button, then goto the taskmanager to switch back to Run.GPS, while on the latter, I can hit the windows key (start menu) or one of the other hardware keys to take me into another app. once in that other app, the start menu is accessible and I can run something else.
I've experienced weird behaviour like this with SPB Mobile shell going back a few years and is why I stopped using it altogether. This doesn't rule out an issue with Run.GPS though.
Yes, assigning hardware buttons would be a possibility, the start call button seems to work, so when I assign some app to other button it might work also. But since I have limited hardware buttons and am not fond of assigning apps to them... I might...
To bad about this BUG, it makes the app close to useless as far as I see it.
Thanks for the response.
This is a known problem that appeared after an update a long time a go and still has not been fixed. I have been unable to task switch run.gps for a long time and have learned how to work around it by dedicating a hard key to the program. Run.gps just refuses to task switch with any program that I am aware of. As such it can be classified as a badly behaved WM program.

Hi,
Does anyone know how I can get run.gps to the background?
I have a HTC Touch pro, with spb mobile shell (not that this matters for the question I think) and in any other application I just press my home button which brings me to the home screen of spb mobile shell and there I can go to the task manager and switch to any application I want or just launch another program.
When trying to do this inside run.gps, it seems as it wants to go to the home screen (the windows task bar, the upper bar appears for a short time) but it jumps back to run.gps.
I really would like to be able to do this while I have run.gps running, because I might want to change my playlist, radio station or just run any other app.
