Rotate screen
I do get a fix but i have to disable "Use wireless networks" in the location settings. Another problem is that Run.GPS crashes when i rotate the screen from potrait to landscape and back in the navigator/recorder screen. Is this a know bug? And will it be fixed?
Just come on here to say the same thing. Brand new Desire. RUN.GPS installed fine, can see satelites, but no fix.
All other apps just fine.
Will check out Endomondo while this is resolved ;-)
While were waiting for a fix (pun intended) - I have just tried out the free endomondo android app and it works perfectly. Go to http://www.endomondo.com and have a look. It doesnt quite have the features of run.gps but it looks gorgeous in comparison.... oh and it works ;) Also the peptalk feature is awesome (text to speech whilst someone is running).
also could get no fix until I updated to android 2.1
When I got my Samsung Spica (i5700) it came with Android 1.6. Whereas there was no specific mention that problems getting a GPS fix were known, I found it very difficult to get a fix - irrespective of what application I used. Once or twice I was able to get a weak fix.
When I updated to Android 2.1, immediately my problems with GPS were solved. Now I am able to get a GPS fix quite quickly and it 'just works' with run.gps.
Thus, if you're running an older version of Android, I'd strongly advise up upgrade to 2.1 if you can.
After disableng the network location thing it gives me a week signal in Run:GPS... Please help with a fix!!! I gave a way my HTC Tuch HD to use this...
I think there is a General Connection Problem to GPS and BT HxM. On my Mobile there's no "weak" GPS Conection, GPS doesn't work at all. I Think that the slightly changing Values when viewing the GPS Status are related to the Cellular AGPS System.
Great! But what is the problem that is known? Is it the problem connecting to the GPS system or the problem that if you do get an connection it is weak? I am hoping it is both :)
Also as a side note I have had a few crashes as well which I never had on my X1. Seems possibly to be to do with rotating the screen?
