You probably won't be able to catch correct values for short (100 m) sprints. The GPS resolution is just not fine enough for this. In Run.GPS release 2.3.6, you have the choice between speed calculation - by the GPS device itself - or by Run.GPS algorithms For monitoring short runs, I would suggest using speed calculation by GPS device and a smoothing buffer size of 8 secs. But this will not be extremely accurate... matthijsl 25.03.2010 19:53:17 UTC gps seems to work perfect, but speed inaccurate? Need help on calibration! SO i have this strange thing that happened. (first: I'm running with htc tytn II, gps works actually usually very good. - althoug qualcom chip) I was running, and suddenly my gps (i didn't notice caus I was running :) ) jumped away at about 300 km/h and put my finnish in slovenia (instead of west of austria) This is SOLVED, i was holding the mobile in my hand while running. I covered the reception with my body. Now using a neoprene belt on my arm, this is not a topic. Just to mention! Now the following problem. Today I did interval training with very fast sprints and slow dribbling in between. SO, the two extremes of what I can run. The track has been recorded perfectly, with no single error! The speed however, I was disappointed, I hoped to read some very nice fast figures for my 100 m sprints :-) The report gave a dissapointing 16 km/h. That cannot be true.... I must at least have been running, well I dunno, fast :-) So does this have to do with speed-smoothing? Because I only sprinted (but full power) for about 100 m and then returning back to dribbling (about 5 km/h) - this is a matter of seconds.
