I witness the same, will get report on here soon. For now, I'm not sure whether it hapens quasi-random or at set moments. It may be associated with bad gps reception (ie in forests).

[WAIT: LET'S FIRST UPDATE TO 2.3.6 BUILD 1961 ;) ]
Where can I find the bugfix version?
>>>>>>>>>
Bug fix release 2.3.6b build 1956 has now been uploaded to http://www.rungps.net.
<<<<<<<<<
On the webside is only the normal 1952 version mentioned.
Explanation: application crashes when GPS reports an altitude of 0 m while the altitude has been greater than 0 before.
The problem did not occur to us during testing because we come from Munich, where the average altitude above sea level is about 500 m. So we never got close to sea level altitude.

You asked for an error message, but when I pressed the details button, I am going back to the mainpage. So I can not see where it is going wrong. I installed the older version, build 1920 again and now everything is working fine again.
