Hello i've been using the xperia's internal gps and no problem, DOP goes fom .08 to 1.1 in cloudy days, for the battery i have no problem i also play music from the media player while running. by teh way if you want to get better accuracy use manual configuration of the internal gps c0m port: COM4 baud rate 57600 that would give the altitude better and less DOP, just give it a try. i have benn using it for a year or so no problem, if you experience from signal loss try an arm band. i don't have one because i have no problem with reception. hope it helps. oh also try to update the firmware for your xperia to the latest rom it heps too.
I dont know how good the gps is in the x1, but you can test it.
Just test it with the internal. Look at the DOP,
and again with the external holux.
I think the gps consume more power than the bt.
And the battery conspution you can also test.
Put the internal Gps on start the training and let it run for about 3 hours.
Again the same with the connection to the bt holux.
Hi there I am new to all this and currently on trial. I have an Xperia X1 and it seems to be working great except the GPS can get lost occasionaly. I found buried away in my gadget draw my old Holux GPS Slim 236 (bluetooth). My question to any technical person out there is:
1. Would the external GPS get a better satellite reception
2. Would my Xperia use more battery having a permanent bluetooth connection or a permanent GPS!?
