Still Problem with HTC HD2 .NET 3.5 and 2.3.5 build 1910

I just downloaded and installed the below update and it seems to have fixed the problem.

Still Problem with HTC HD2 .NET 3.5 and 2.3.5 build 1910
I have still the problem when trying to run the select screen and run Map or Navigator.

It loads and then after about 14 seconds errors out with the below errors.

Run.GPS.TrainerUV.exe
ArgumentNullException
An error message cannot be displayed
because an optional resource assembly
containing it cannot be found


at System.Text.Encoding.GetBytes()
at h.e()
at jr.a()
at ke.b()

I have retry with this release 2.3.5 and NEtCF 3.7 and it worked!

We could reproduce the problem :-)

The problem is due to a bug in the Microsoft C# compiler which causes corrupt MSIL instructions. The problematic instructions are very hard to find since it is not possible to debug the problem. Anyway, we found the right spot, rewrote the code (this is really crazy, but the only available workaround).

A new release 2.3.5 build 1910 which is compatible to .NET CF 3.7 has been uploaded on the server (www.rungps.net > Downloads).

CF 3.7 cannot be uninstalled as its part of the ROM.

I read the following document

and created a Run.GPS.TrainerUV.exe.config inside the file I tried forcing runtime version 3.5.7283 which is the version of .net CF 3.5 I have installed on my device.

I still receive the same error but it was worth a try.

Had the .NET CF 3.7 been installed when you got the device or did you install it? If you installed, you could as well remove it so only the 3.5 is on the device.

Yes this device has .NET CF 3.7 installed, I did install 3.5 alongside 3.7 however the error still occurs. I don't know if its possible to remove 3.7 if that's what is causing the error.

Seems to occur when .NET Compact Framework 3.7 is installed (but not always, on our test devices it works :-). More information is here: http://www.gps-sport.net/forums/thread/1296-0/
