Dear Admin,
Thank you for the explanations again,

> 2) Not possible - there should be much more track points

Sorry, my bad :). upon closer inspection, the gpx file I was referring too was obtained with another program (navicomputer) with a fixed sampling interval of 10s, which made it ~30 m distance between the nearest recorded points.

Run.GPS does better with its adaptive algorithm - e.g. for city start-stop driving I got from 5 to 15 m
between recorded points (after exporting into gpx file). Still, (especially in conjunction with different sports
that have no user-defined parameters at the moment?), some sort of user control how densely track points are recorded, on average, would be desirable. I do not know whether
it is possible to implement such a parameter easily with your recording algorithm, butt maybe you might consider it as a suggestion for the next release of the software?

P.S. also in line of introducing configurable parameters for different sports, it owuld be nice to see more trasparently
how calories/power are calculated?

Cheers

2) Not possible - there should be much more track points. Perhaps you looked at the map on GPS-Sport.net, where i the track is even more simplified. If you download the GPX data, there should be much more points.

The map tiles are always taken from "map_images".

Thank you!

about my quesiton 2),
in a situation of a ~200m circular path, moving with a speed of ~15 km/h
(which is perfectly realistic in the case of e.g. leisure skating)
only less than ten points are recorded, making the trajectory
too discrete and imprecise. Wouldn't it be really great idea to make at least one adjustable parameter
affecting roughly how often the trajectory is sampled?

Also I have another question. I want to share my downloaded osm tiles with another program.
Is there a way to instruct Run.GPS to look for them in a folder other than map_images?

1) You can change the averaging interval in Configuration > General Configuration

2) It's a compressed format, meaning that if you move at the same speed in the same direction, less data is recorded than there would be if you were to move at different speeds and directions, altitudes, ...

3) The difference only concerns power and calories calculation.

speed averaging, sampling interval etc.

Dear Run.GPS community,

I'm a novice, I've just got hold of Run.GPS software (trial version), and so far, I'm loving it!

I've a few questions, though (sorry if they are not new here, but, hopefully, someone can answer,
or at least give me a link to an answer, pls):

1) I've noticed (while driving) that the instantaneous velocity/speed does not go to zero until about
20 seconds after a complete stop.
This has to do with the way it is averaged, of course. It is not very comfortable. I'd like to have a shorter
averaging interval. Is there a way to alter this behaviour (e.g. through a configuration parameter or a reg edit)?

2) What is the time step for recording the track data, and whether it s possible to adjust it?

3) Is there any difference in behavour of the Run.GPS when you select different sports (I cannot find any configurable parameters so far)?

thanks a lot in advance, and cheers to the author(s) of this wonderful piece of software,

Tichi
