OK I see. But walking should consume about 25% less calories than running the same distance and that's also what Run.GPS formulae will assume ...

saying about 100m I ment 92 kcal per 100m. My calculations were rather long: 2 times running of 3000m each time and 2 times walking 1800 m each. Then I devided calories to meters and got 92kcal/100m.

Yes you're right, running consumes more calories than walking, and this is also the way it is coded in Run.GPS. Maybe 100m are a bit short for a test.

If you want more precice calorie calculation, you could use a heart rate monitor. If a HRM is connected, Run.GPS automatically uses the data from this source.

I had idea that at least it will be dependent of speed I move. May be I'm wrong but I think that running man spend more than slow walking.

My calculations (with HTC 3470) say that 100 m cost appr. 92 kcal doesn't matter either I walk or run like wind -)
