Upgraded from my XV6800 (HTC TyTn) to an HTC Touch Pro 2 a few days ago. I read up on how to register RunGPS on the new phone and how to move the data from one phone to another. It turned out to be simpler than I had ever planned:
Without uninstalling RunGPS on the old phone, I moved the SD card to the new phone - then installed RunGPS on the new phone using the latest CAB file on the website and the original registration code, choosing to install to the storage card as I did on the old phone.
That's it!! All training data was still there, all settings were preserved, everything! I guess that is another benefit to installing to a storage card if you have the ability.
Also, the internal GPS on the HTC Touch Pro 2 seems to be very reliable. My old phone took awhile to lock and would start to lose signal when on the trails under the tree canopy. I eventually switched to an external bluetooth keychain GPS which kept a good signal, but the bluetooth connection would get lost occasionally. Hopefully I won't need the external GPS on the new phone - I will post an update after some uses, but unfortunately trails around here have been closed for some time due to an abundance of rain.
UPDATE: I spoke too soon. Looks like the first couple times I ran the application, it was okay but now it has realized that it is on a new phone and won't let me run the app until I get a new license. I emailed support - hopefully they will respond quickly.
