Android and WM music player

Hi... you could look for MortPlayer in the android market or here for the Windows Mobile version: http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=download&entry=mp_program&action=list
It has an equaliser with which you can lower the music-volume - and it's a free folder-based player. I love it and use it for over three years now!
Good luck!

Solution

Hello

I bought another TTS Engine (Text to Speech) Engine called SVOX from the market.
The voice extension costs about 3€.
It replaced the original TTS Engine of Android.
The voice is better and you can change the volume of the voice up to 400%.
So the voice is louder than the rest, for example music.
Works well for me.

I have found that this very badly handled in the Android version. In Android 2.3.4 Settings/Sound/Volume there is -apparently- a menu to set volume for different sounds (Ringtone, Media, Alarm, Notification), but none of these influence Run.GPS voice command volume. This seems only to be set by the master system volume only? Combined with a rather robotic tinnie default voice on my Motorola Defy+, it is very hard to hear Run.GPS instructions over background music when using earplugs.
It would be better if Run.GPS had its own voice (plents of apps do this) AND/OR is able to set its own volume AND /OR lowers or cancels other audio channels while making the announcement.

@crle thanks...
I have just moved from Win Mob to Andriod versions and found that on Android I could not hear the voice instructions over the music WITHOUT installing a musicplayer with a preamp (in my case PowerAMP). This is something I never had to do with Win Mob, so either Run.GPS or the OS handle the audio channels differently?

press on the action button and you stop the music .....if you have a smart phone

download music player with equilizer support (eg mixzing) and lower gain. It uses battery somewhat, but you can at least hear music and voice at same time.

Lower music volume

I haven't managed to find how to do this, but I compromise. If you set the music volume at 80%, the run.gps voice is clearer, especially when riding a bike.
