Hard Reset

Yes hard reset will usyally help. I had weeks ago problems with GPS and hard reset solved that.
CaptainCalamity 28.08.2008 09:54:54 UTC

Thanks Spaca

I have just HARD RESET my diamond, re-installed Run.GPS, setup my RUN.GPS as you speicified and now GPS instantly finds satellites, even sitting indoors.

I read on another forum that a hard reset will sort your GPS out if it gets into problems, only problem with that is I have to re-install everything now.

But now I am getting more accurate readings and altitude in Run.GPS.

Thanks again Spaca for you help

If your Diamond have older ROM then try baudrate 19200. I have no problems with COM4 and 57600 baudrate.

Example:
http://www.gps-sport.net/trainings/rollerblading_38286

I noticed that Windows managed GPS finds satellites faster than manually configured. So, you have to wait little longer when use manual configuration...

As I said in my thread I have tried everything including this, when I uncheck windows managed in the GPS setup on Run.GPS, then set manually to COM4 and the baudrates suggested, the GPS never connects, just sits searching for ever.

Then if I switch back to windows managed, instant GPS location, yet still no altitude...

Psybadeck and CaptainCalamity, please read whole thread and you can find solution!

(Uncheck windows managed GPS, then use COM4 and baudrates 4800 or 57600)

Altitude

Same for my Diamond, everything works fine, except the altitude. Is there any hint, or solution?
