Erste Seite<Seite1von1>Letzte Seite admin 05.02.2015 10:44:51 UTC geändert am 05.02.2015 13:08:56 UTC Run.GPS 3.0.0 Data Migration WHAT IS DONE ----------------- Run.GPS copies all files in the /Run.GPS/ folder to the standard app data folder /storage/extSdCard/Android/data/de.esymetric.rungps/files/Run.GPS/ (or similar, depending on your system) The original folder /Run.GPS/ is renamed to /Run.GPS_OLD/ and can be deleted if everything has been copied successfully. WHY IT IS DONE ------------------ Android 4.4 or later does not allow write access to the sd card any more. Therefore, the internal memory has to be used which may not be big enough. The only way to overcome this restriction is to use the standard app data folder. Another reason to use this folder is that cleaning apps like "CleanMaster", which are quite in fashion now, tend to delete the /Run.GPS/ folder which is quite annoying because all data is lost. HOW TO AVOID THE MIGRATION ------------------------------------ IF you don't want your Run.GPS folder to be moved, you can avoid it by placing an empty file (can be created with a text editor) named "kitkat_migration_checked" (no suffix) in the original /Run.GPS/ folder (before you start Run.GPS 3.0 for the first time). You can also download the file here: http://www.rungps.net/downloads/kitkat_migration_checked (right mouse button >> download as) HOW TO MOVE THE DATA FOLDER TO A CUSTOM LOCATION ------------------------------------------------------------------- On a device with an external sd card, you can move the data folder to one of the following locations: 1) /sdcard0/Run.GPS/ 2) /extSdCard/Run.GPS/ 3) /sdcard0/Android/data/de.esymetric.rungps/files/Run.GPS/ 4) /extSdCard/Android/data/de.esymetric.rungps/files/Run.GPS/ Item 2) is not possible on Android 4.4 or later, because apps don't have write access there. "de.esymetric.rungps" may be named differently, depending on the version you use, e.g. "de.esymetric.rungps_lite".
